Based in Zwickau, Germany, Cornu Design approaches contemporary object design through a language shaped by fluidity, movement, and material transformation. Founded by designers Beyza and Mustafa Nizamov, the studio combines digital fabrication with traditional craftsmanship to create sculptural pieces that blur the boundary between function and atmosphere.

Drawing from their academic background at the Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, the duo has developed a practice centered around the idea of “flow”, translating the organic rhythms of nature into tactile forms that feel soft, dynamic, and almost alive despite being constructed from rigid materials. Through the use of 3D printing paired with careful hand-finishing techniques, their objects acquire a fluid visual quality that challenges conventional perceptions of structure and solidity.
Rather than producing purely utilitarian objects, Cornu Design focuses on creating pieces that shape emotional atmosphere within a space. Each work is conceived as an experiential presence, intended to influence light, texture, and mood as much as function. This philosophy recently gained wider visibility through presentations at EDIT Napoli, where the studio exhibited its full collection, while the piece “Mariposa” was also featured by DesignWanted.

Among the studio’s most striking works is “Insekt,” a biomorphic lighting object that transforms illumination into a sculptural experience. Replacing the traditional dome silhouette with an organically flowing 3D-printed structure, the piece diffuses warm golden light through layered curves and perforated surfaces, creating a shifting interplay of shadow and glow. The result feels less like a conventional lamp and more like a living form suspended within the room.

At the core of Cornu Design’s approach is a balance between technological innovation and tactile craftsmanship. Every piece is produced to order, allowing the studio to maintain a highly considered relationship with material experimentation, sustainability, and detail. Through this process, digital production becomes not a tool for uniformity, but a way of creating objects with distinct personality, atmosphere, and sculptural presence.
